The fire up synctoy at the beginning and end of each session, and you will both be working from the most current files. This especially works well with Dropbox/Onedrive/Google Drive folders. Set up a synced folder pair between your default S1 directory on your HDD, and a folder on Onedrive to mirror the contents. This batch script allows you to map remote folders (either on a network share OR on your drive somewhere else) to your patch/sample directory so that you dont have to physically import them.

On windows, I use the free "Synctoy" program from MS, to replicate files in different directories.

Streaming and recording audio can be taxing on a computer, and introducing internet and networking into the equation, may present some problems (not always, but there is potential). You should use onedrive as the transfer vehicle, but I would work from a local folder on your harddrive. So now understanding where the files are, to work remotely, you want to copy the entire song folder, including all media sub folders and. Good idea to check that off when you collaborate remotely a lot. In preferences, you can select an option to have Studio One ask to copy these files when you are closing the song. In this instance, you have to use the "Copy External Files" command from the file menu, which will then move the external file to the proper sub folder. They are referenced to the place or origin. If you have any files that are recorded elsewhere and dragged in to that song, they ARE NOT automatically copied to the sub folders.

Any events that are directly recorded in Studio One, will be placed in the respective sub folder. song file (roadmap), as well as other sub folders for media, midi, mixdowns, etc. 1st major point to know is the file structure of the song, and how files are handled.įor every new song, S1 creates a folder of the same name in your default directory (set that in preferences). Absolutely doable, but you should better understand file management to avoid missing files.
